Overview
The cultural experience will offer you a glimpse into some of the marginalized indigenous community’s historical lifestyles from the perspective of village life. This cultural immersive experience will take you into the heart of the rural village and where you will take part in the community’s daily activities, meet locals, taste traditional dishes and get engaged in an authentic cultural immersion experiences and the vibrant and diverse cultural heritage of the Ugandan.
You will meet the local communities, hear their stories, and learn how they still use ancient techniques and knowledge to farm, weave and live their lives in harmony with Nature.
Itinerary
Welcome to Uganda! On arrival, you will be met at the Airport by Justice Tourism Foundation (JTF) representative who will escort you to your safari vehicle and will introduce you to your Driver who will also be your Guide. The first stop will be a short drive to your accommodation where you will be able to relax and contemplate the Best of Uganda Safari adventure that lies ahead.

After your lunch, you will join your local community leaders and take a journey into the heart of Fort Portal Tourism City where you will be first of all welcomed into the city and entertained to the Batooro traditional and cultural music and dances organized by our women cooperative groups and thereafter you will be offered a guided tour around Fort Portal city to explore the cultural sites including a visit to the Tooro Kingdom Palace where you might get a chance to meet the youngest King in the all world. The current Omukama of Toro is King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV. King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV took to the throne of Tooro kingdom in 1995 at the age of just three years, after the death of his father Omukama Patrick David Matthew Kaboyo Rwamuhokya Olimi III on August 26, 1995, at the age of 50. A visit to the Tooro Palace is one of the highlights of exploring the cultural experiences in Uganda. You will also have a chance to visit the local markets where you will have an opportunity to interact with the local market vendors and explore some of the Ugandan foods and spices.

On this day you will have the opportunity to volunteer alongside the local villagers on our environmental conservation initiatives whereby together you will construct nurseries tree beds and also transplanting trees to degraded forest sites as a way of supporting the climate change adaptation and management, plant native and productive tree species in order to increase farm incomes, restore degraded soils, protect water sources and increase habitat for biodiversity ecosystems. And after your gorgeous lunch later in the afternoon you will visit the local markets where you will have an opportunity to interact with the local market vendors and explore some of the Ugandan foods and spices, taste some of the best juicy Ugandan purely organic fruits such as the mangoes, guavas, pineapples and much more.

On this day after your breakfast , you will join our women cooperative groups guide and take a journey into the heart of the rural village to experience authentic Uganda villages lifestyle where you will have an opportunity to take part in the community’s daily activities and interact with the local people and get a chance to appreciate their cultures, and participate in rural livelihood activities like cultural activities.– visit small farms, learn about indigenous crops from farmers, visit the local tea plantation and try picking tea with the local villagers. Participate in cultural activities such as basket weaving, local textile crafting and preparing of local dishes, participate in banana wine making and traditional coffee processing and at the end of it all you will taste some of the banana wine, carry some of the produced coffee with you and purchase some of the the crafts made by the women cooperative groups. And after your lunch later in the you will wind up your day by being entertained to the traditional music and dances by the women cooperative groups and also Learn about the lives of rural women, the custodians of traditions and indigenous knowledge. Their resilience and commitment to extended family and community have kept the African family intact through centuries of adversity.

And bringing it all together in a very special culinary immersion at the Women’s cooking workshop where they strictly source from the ecosystem surrounding the Kibale National Park and support the local rural communities.

Today in the morning you will to do Chimpanzee Tracking where the experienced Uganda wildlife ranger takes you through the Process. Chimps have been tracked since 1993 and the chances of locating them are excellent. Guided walks start at 8am and 2pm and last an average of three hours, depending on various factors. Beside the chimps, thirteen species of Primates can be sought, and a good variety of diurnal monkeys invariably encountered during your trek to the chimpanzees
